Tammy
Hospital Administrator
Tammy joined Heartland Animal Hospital in January 2016. She has 25 years of experience in business operations, finance and human resources. She graduated from Elmhurst College with a degree in Business Administration. She lives in Marion with her sons. Tammy enjoys spending time outdoors planting flowers, walking, riding bikes and swimming. She also enjoys cooking many different cuisines, reading and traveling.
Kara
Receptionist
Kara grew up in Iowa and currently has 1 cat named Domino. Before working in the veterinary field Kara volunteered at Last Hope with her Mom. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her son and husband, Ben.
Leah
Lead Veterinary Technician
Leah grew up in Michigan and moved to Iowa to study Animal Science at Iowa State University. She now lives in Cedar Rapids with her partner Jesse, their Beauceron named Freya, Atlas the Afghan Hound, and naughty calico Nora. Outside of work she enjoys reading historical fiction, playing video games, and hiking with her dogs.
Kacie
Veterinary Technician
Kacie lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband Chris, and their four dogs. Kacie came to Heartland Animal Hospital after spending several years in animal rescue. In her spare time you will find her at concerts, reading, and volunteering at Last Hope.
Branda
Veterinary Technician
Branda grew up in Iowa, and has been in the Veterinary field since 2019. Branda now lives with her partner Killian and their 6 dogs. Outside of work she enjoys walks, reading manga, and collecting house plants.
Kim
Receptionist
Kim is a native Cedar Rapidian. Her love of animals began at a young age, as she was always surrounded by family pets. She was able to find the perfect career as a pet stylist and she pampered both cats and dogs for several years before entering the veterinary field. Kim spends much of her spare time with her two young boys, husband, 3 cats, and 2 dogs.
Kayleigh
Registered Veterinary Technician
Kayleigh grew up in Florida and moved to Cedar Rapids before Highschool. She attended Kirkwood Community College’s Veterinary Technician Program and graduated in 2020 earning her associate’s degree. She has completed her licensing and registration and is a registered veterinary technician (RVT) in the state of Iowa. Kayleigh now lives in Marion with her husband Austin and their 2 dogs Maggie and Freddy and 2 cats Ted and Lucy. Outside of work she enjoys painting, playing games and is the biggest book nerd!
Cassie
Veterinary Technician
Cassandra joined Heartland Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Technician in 2016 with 3 years of prior veterinary clinical experience. She lives with her 6 year old cat- Kee Kat, 6 year old rescue dog -Amos, and 1 year Syrian hamster- Mr.Pickles. She has a fond love for all critters that are scaly and exotic. Cassie is an avid outdoors woman and puts many miles on the river and trails. She often spends her spare time going to the gym or relaxing at home while crocheting. With a new found love for travel, she is devoted to visiting as many out of state destinations as possible.
